Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday said that under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana, poor and needy women will be made self-reliant and a district-level training centre will be set up in Gharaunda for imparting training to these women.
He said that if women of self-help groups make good quality goods, their goods will be sold at Vita and Hafed booths, which will increase their livelihood. At the same time, the self-help group which works better and has a very low income will be considered to provide the services of depot holders, said the Chief Minister while speaking at the loan distribution programme organized by Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission in Karnal.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed cheques worth Rs 16.55 crore to women from 933 self-help groups in eight blocks of the district.
The Chief Minister said that women of self-help groups should add two poor women in their groups, whose economic income is very low. This will add 800 more women in the 4,000 self-help groups that are already running in the district. With this effort, the lives of 800 women will be improved, he said.
Manohar Lal said that the State Government is working on the vision of Antyodaya as per the thinking of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya so that the last person standing in the queue gets benefit of the government schemes.
He said that Parivar Pehchan Patra is being made by the State Government. This will ensure the income of every person. In the first year, one lakh such families will be taken, whose income is lowest. Besides this, the State Government also plans to ensure monthly income of these families is up to Rs 10,000, he said.
The Chief Minister further said that about 4,000 self-help groups have been formed in the district, out of which maximum of 800 are in the Gharaunda block. The self-help group was started in the year 2015 in Karnal and Rs 45.67 crore were disbursed as loan till March 31, 2020, he added.
