In India, vaccination drives are being carried out with efficiency but there remains a section of people who are either underprivileged or disadvantaged and do not possess the necessary information and education on the need of getting vaccinated and the procedures to sign up and register for the same.
Sitaram Poswal, a passionate social worker and philanthropist from Rajasthan, recognized this problem and is tirelessly contributing to resolving it. He has curated specific awareness programmes that are dedicated to educating the village and slum population about the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine and the benefits of getting it. The programmes also intend to inform people about the sign up process on the portal and the on-spot registration that is now available at certain vaccination centers. Sitaram Poswal's team of volunteers and social workers has been taking these very informative programmes to villages, slums and other underdeveloped areas in and around Rajasthan. He says, "The awareness programmes have also been focused towards ensuring that people are informed about the need to wear masks, follow social distancing and other guidelines even after getting vaccinated."
Sitaram Poswal's efforts and campaigns have yielded visible results and a lot of people in the villages have come forward to get vaccinated. Apart from this, Poswal has been striving to connect migrant labourers and workers rendered unemployed due to the pandemic to opportunities of decent work and skill development.
Sitaram Poswal has emerged as a social worker who is driven towards bringing real change in society. During the deadly second wave of the Coronavirus in India, Poswal made a donation of Rupees 11 lakhs to the Rajasthan Government for the procurement and supply of oxygen cylinders.
