Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced on Sunday that in the current year the minimum support price (MSP) for Kodo-Kutki (minor millets) will be announced. And Kutru and Gangloor will get the status of tehsil.
He was addressing a public meeting at the Mini Stadium in Bijapur during his two-day visit to Bijapur district.
Apart from the MSP for minor millets, Baghel announced sanction for funds for deepening and beautification works of 12 ponds including Loha Dongri and Mahadev Talab.
He said 10 roads in the district and a bus stand each at Bhairamgarh, Awapalli and Mander will be constructed. Paddy procurement centres will come up at Tongpalli and Bhadrakali.
The priority of the government is to conserve and protect the culture and traditions of the region, ensuring development along with providing facilities for education, health and sports.
The District Mineral Fund (DMF) is being utilized for it.
The right of water, forest and land remains with the local people, the Chief Minister said.
He added that the government is fighting against malnutrition. The procurement of minor forest produce has been increased to 52. The Chief Minister inspected the exhibition of different departments and distributed the materials to the beneficiaries. It includes agriculture equipment like drills, seed drill, tractor and others. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra has developed a hacthery for 2,500 eggs, the cost of which is just Rs 2,500 but in the open market such a machine is available at Rs 1 lakh, he said.
