Veteran Congress leader, who was the first Mayor of Ranchi, Shiv Narayan Jaiswal, passed away here on Wednesday. A distinguished businessman, born in the year 1926, Shivnarayan Jaiswal has also contributed in the independence of the country. He was always engaged in the service of the country and the party by joining the Congress party.
Born in the royal family of Jamalpur, Uttar Pradesh, Shiv Narayan Jaiswal was educated under Bishop Scott. He had passed Senior Cambridge. He had such a hold in the British policy that even the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha used to consult them regarding the policy.
Jaiswal's had an excellent foresight; it was his dream to make Jharkhand an industrial hub. He built hundreds of temples on his own. Also, made schools-colleges for better education to the people and also build hospitals keeping in view the health of the people. He used to help and donate in social, religious, political programs with both his hands. He has donated the land of Lord Birsa Munda Samadhi located at Ranchi Kokar Distillery. In this way, many social works were done in Jharkhand including Ranchi, due to his efficient personality and works, people will remember him for ages.
Jaiswal lived his idyllic life in a royal style for 96 years. He is survived by 5 sons and three daughters, the first son is Manoranjan Jaiswal and the first great-grandson is Aditya Vikram Jaiswal, who is an active leader of the state Congress in Ranchi.
