Fire in chemical factory, no casualties

A major fire in a chemical factory in Raipur’s Bhanpuri area on Friday gutted goods worth crores of rupees but there were no casualties, police said on Friday.

 Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) (City) Lakhan Pawar Patle said the factory belongs to Columbia Petro Chemicals and is located in the Bhanpuri Industrial Area.

Eight to 10 fire tenders battled the flames, he said. There are no casualties, he added.

The fire was put out after four-five hours. The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained.
