The Union Government has approved the construction of a four-lane road on Swarnarekha Nala in Gwalior. The four-lane road will be constructed from the Institute of Information Technology and Management (IITM) to Maharani Laxmibai statue, having an estimated cost of Rs 406.35 crore.
Speaking to media persons, Madhya Pradesh Water Resources minister, Tulsi Ram Silavat said that it was due to the sustained efforts of Union Minister Scindia that the four lane road was sanctioned by Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari under the Central Road Fund Scheme. He added that the Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had written a letter to his cabinet colleague and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, highlighting the pathetic condition of roads in Gwalior and the need for their construction in public interest.
In addition to the four-lane road, the Union Government has also sanctioned funds from the Central Road Fund Scheme for the construction of 3 roads in the Gwalior-Chambal division.
The roads include the 32 kms Bhitarwar-Chinour road, the 11 kms Chitouli-Ranighat road and the 4.7kms Dabra Pichour road.
