On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, a day long blood donation camp was organized at Sadar Blood Bank, Bokaro Sadar Hospital under the joint aegis of Bokaro Blood Donors Association and Dak Bomb Seva Samiti, Chas here on Monday.
Bokaro MLA Viranchi Narayan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ashok Kumar Pathak and Sub-Divisional Officer Chas Shashi Prakash Singh attended the said camp as the chief guest and encouraged the blood donors.
The camp was mainly organized to provide blood for children who have been suffering from Thalassemia and cancer. While the camp was led by Blood Man Harbans Singh Saluja and Mukesh Raj Rai.
The highlight of today's camp was that on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, women donated blood in a big way, in which a total of 15 units of blood were donated by them.
Sub-divisional officer Chas Shashi Prakash Singh while expressing his gratitude to the dedicated blood donors for blood donation said that due to the selfless service of all of you, the need of people's blood is being met today, I request all of you for an adequate supply of blood. It would be urged that all of you keep the dedication and desires of donating blood selflessly in these human services.
Blood Man Harbans Singh Saluja said that during the lockdown period, the 16th blood donation camp was organized by Bokaro Blood Donors Association and Dak Bomb Seva Samiti, Chas , in which a total of 15 units of blood were donated and, a total of 1560 units of blood were donated in different blood banks during the lockdown period. .
