The fourth Jharkhand International Film Festival (JIFA), which is being organized continuously for the last 3 years, this time as the Amrit Mahotsav of 75 years of Independence, under the joint aegis of Radio Khanchi, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Ranchi University (DJMCRU) and Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) Will be held in Ranchi from 29 October till 30 October.
Organizing Committee Chairman Rishi Prakash Mishra said in a press conference on Saturday that following the Corona guidelines, this year on October 29th and October 30th at Audrey House, 75 films will be screened free of cost selected by the Jury Committee selected 152 films from the entries received from 24 countries. International jury members include Dr Ranu Sinha, Kripa Ranjan Prasad, Mukesh Modi from the US and Bollywood filmmaker Amit Aggarwal, along with Dr Ajay Malkani, Dr Anil Thakur Suman as the head of the jury, he added.
Mishra said that the award ceremony cum cultural evening will be organized on October 31 at Aryabhatta Auditorium, Ranchi from 6:30 pm onwards in which Governor of Jharkhand, Ramesh Bais will be present as the Chief Guest and will inaugurate the program.
“Chief Minister, Hemant Soren has also been invited. On this occasion eminent film actor Gulshan Grover, actress Poonam Dhillon along with Johnny Lever, Raju Srivastava, Rakesh Bedi, folk singer Radha Srivastava, TV artist Deepika Singh, Punjabi film actress Shivani Sharma and many internationally renowned models and actresses will be present,” said Mishra.
Organizing Committee Vice-Chairman Sunil Singh Badal and Program Head Akash Sinha issued a joint statement and said that on October 29, Art and Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs Minister Hafizul Hasan will inaugurate the festival as the Chief Guest, whose main theme is Amrit Mahotsav will be held in 75 years of independence.
