The Border Security Force Training Centre and School organised a special function here on Friday to felicitate 100 jawans of Meru training Centre and School, who were honoured by the Central Government Home Department by providing them Internal Security Service medal.
In the function Commandant cum IG, Ravi Gandhi, DIG (Administration) Sultan Ahmad and DIG (Training) CD Agarwal have awarded medals to all 100 jawans of the Centre. Gandhi said 428 employees are working in the centre, out of which 21 officers, 69 subordinate officers and 338 employees are doing their duties. As many as 100 personnel have been honoured by Central Government. The remaining will be awarded later on.
He added the internal security service medal was started by the Home department in the year 2018. This medal has been given to such jawans who have served and met the challenges in Jammu & Kashmir, eastern States to fight with the extremists. This award is given by the Central Government twice in a year.
Gandhi added every jawan and officer is doing his duties with full dedication. He said that the awards will certainly boost their morale and dedication.
