The most awaited Aligarh's Dhanipur airport to start operating soon as the Accountable Manager and Safety Manager have been deployed at Dhanipur Airport from the government level. In such a situation, there is a possibility of getting a license from DGCA for flying soon. The process of licensing was stuck due to their appointment. At present, City Magistrate Pradeep Verma has been made Accountable Manager on the instructions of the government. At the same time, SP City has got the responsibility of Safety Manager. Now the airport will be operated under the joint supervision of these two officers.

Under the UDAN scheme, the central government is developing airports in Aligarh, Azamgarh, Shravasti, Chitrakoot, Sonbhadra in UP. This process started in 2016. However, the construction work gained momentum after the BJP government came to the state in 2017. The responsibility of construction work from the government level was given to the State Construction Corporation. Under this, the airport premises were increased. The runway was extended. Tower, parking lot and terminal building were constructed. An amount of about 70 crores has been spent on its expansion. Two months back, the Rajkiya Nirman Nigam has also completed the construction work.

After the completion of the construction work, the state government has applied to the DGCA to start flying from Dhanipur airport. In the first phase, the flight of 20 seater plane is to start from Aligarh to Lucknow. However, objections were raised from DGCA on the government's application recently. In this, earlier instructions were given to deploy Accountable Manager and Safety Manager for airport operations.

On this, instructions have been given to the Aligarh administration from the government level for this.

Now on the instructions of the government, both the officers have been deployed at Dhanipur airport. In this, the responsibility of accountable manager has been given to City Magistrate Pradeep

Verma.

At the same time, the work of Safety Manager will be handled by SP City. Both the officers will operate the airport as per the instructions of the Airport Authority.
