Lord Ram’s birthplace, the holy land of faith and devotion — Ayodhya has been the focal point of spirituality since ages. It attracts innumerable devotees from all over the world which in turn increases the importance of its railway station.
Railways is operating many trains in Ayodhya, fulfilling its important role and responsibilities in convenient movement of passengers. It will provide high class infrastructural facilities, passenger amenities, cleanliness and various other facilities with high quality standards in the city’s railway station. It is noteworthy that the construction work of a well-equipped building with the latest and modern passenger facilities of Ayodhya station is in progress. For this building an approval of Rs 80 crore were sanctioned in the financial year 2017-18, which has been increased to Rs 104.77 crore at present.
The station building is being constructed by the RITES, an enterprises of railways. The construction of this building will be in two phases, in the first one the development work will be in the current circulating and the holding area and platform numbers one, two and three. In the second phase, the construction of the new station building and other facilities will be taken into account. These facilities include renovation of the internal and external premises to expand the number of ticket counters, waiting rooms, restrooms and dormitories. Other desired facilities include an additional foot over bridge, food plaza, shops, additional toilets. Apart from this, the tourist center and taxi booth will be added facilities. All these works are reviewed from time to time by the railways and in due course instructions are also passed to complete the work with high quality.
Rajiv Chaudhry, General Manager, Northern & North Central Railways informed that in view of the importance of this city, the railways is modernising the Ayodhya railway station. Constant efforts are being made to provide modern facilities equipped with high standards to the visiting devotees and tourists.
