The creation must be unitary for it to exist. This arrangement is good for us, because it is controlled by God, writes AJIT KUMAR BISHNOI
God is fully involved, much more than we can imagine or give Him credit for. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna has stated in unequivocal terms about the degree of His involvement, “I am engaged in action only. Because it is essential that I am carefully engaged in action. If I do not act, then all these worlds will be destroyed. (3.22-24) Then, in the thirteenth chapter, He states: “Having limbs on all sides; having eyes, head and mouth on all sides; having ears on all sides, He is situated in this world pervading all.” (13.13) He states again, “God only is outside and inside of all living entities, and situated far away also, and nearby too; it is He only.” (13.15) This is not all. God knows everything which goes on in our minds. (13.2)
This is a God-centric creation, and it suits us. Imagine a headless company. Will it be sustainable? The creation must be unitary for it to exist. This arrangement is good for us, because it is controlled by God. Normally, the karmaphala principle is applicable to all of us souls, which is: what we sow, we reap. However for devotees of God, there is special treatment. The very best get help in getting what they do not have and security of what they have. (9.22) For devotees like me, God helps us in crossing all impediments by His grace. (18.58) This is wonderful for me, because in this impermanent place of miseries. (8.15) I am assured of His help and guidance at all times. Additionally, God makes sure that “dharma” does not suffer decline (4.7), this is good for dharma obeying persons like me.
God’s plans are logical. He wants us to take shelter of Him only. Then, by His mercy we will achieve supreme peace and His eternal abode. (18.62) What could be better? God promises us that if we follow His instructions, i.e. align our plans with His. The difficulty arises from our free will, which entitles us to desire freely and decide for ourselves. God does not ever withdraw our free will. Because if He did, we will all become robots, God being all-powerful. So what does God do to help us? He preaches. Anyone who has read the Gita thoroughly will realise how much God has tried to convince us to follow His instructions, which give us unimaginable benefits. Chapter after chapter, Lord Krishna has argued in so many ways to convince us to follow the spiritual path; give up getting entangled in earthly attractions. God is not against enjoyment but that should be proper, i.e. according to dharma. (7.11)
Fortunate souls realise the advantages of obeying God’s instructions. They can see that the Cosmic Design is in our favour. For God, there is neither anything remaining to be obtained by Him nor there is anything worth getting for Him; God is complete in all respects. The Cosmic Design is such that even in this impermanent place of miseries, we can experience eternal bliss. (5.21) We just have to pay more attention to what God is trying to convey to us through scriptures, to preachers like Adi Shankracharya, and to good souls; there is no lack of them. Not only should we listen to God but realise that He is our biggest benefactor. Imagine a world without the omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent God. What kind of mess we will be in. Even with God so actively involved, we find multiple ways to get in trouble.
Therefore, let us become sensible; pay attention to what God has instructed. His active involvement is also good for us in becoming better persons. I have realised the importance of bringing God in may life in a very substantial way. My life has never been so fruitful. I am really blessed to have God so involved in my life.
