Yoga beneficial in combating Covid-19: Balkrishna

Acharya Balkrishna of Patanjali Yogpeeth has said that practice of Yoga and use of Ayurveda medicines have proved beneficial in preventing the infection of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19). He said that many types of medicines are available in Ayurveda which help in increasing the immunity of the body.

He was speaking at a programme organised at Vidhan Sabha on Monday. In the programme held before the start of the winter session of assembly, the MLAs and the employees of the Vidhan Sabha participated in a Yoga session. Balkrishna said that the Yoga guru Ramdev worked for spreading Yoga in the world while Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured worldwide recognition for Yoga. Speaking on the occasion, the speaker Premchand Agarwal said that daily Yoga and exercises help in keeping one healthy and fit. He said that regular Yoga sessions are being organised in the Vidhan Sabha. Agarwal added that health is wealth and everyone should be aware about the ways to keep fit.

Acharya Vipin Joshi gave training on various Yoga postures to the MLAs and the employees. The deputy speaker Raghunath Singh Chauhan, MLAs Harbansh Kapoor, Sahdev Pundir, Deshraj Karnwal, Dhan Singh Negi, Mukesh Koli and Ritu Khanduri Bhushan were present on the occasion.
