Pre- wedding photo shoots have become a regular feature for couples gearing up to start a new phase of their lives. Be it a love or an arranged marriage, new age couples opt for these not just to document their journey but also to post it on their social media accounts. With Jharkhand offering a host of places apt for the purpose, City based wedding photographers are busy snapping couples on these scenic locales.
Patratu Valley, Hundru Falls, Maithon Dam, Netarhart are some of the widely popular places where couples looking to recreate Bollywood poses get their pre wedding pictures clicked.
Ranchi based Prem Singh from YourStory- Gifting you moments has been involved in such shoots for the past six years. “Initially people would just pose for pictures at the locations but with the changing trend couples now opt for themes like intense or romance. McCluskieganj is ideal during the winter months.
Horap Jungle and Navratangarhare two places which are gradually becoming more popular amongst young couples. Such shoots can cost anywhere from Rs 15,000 to Rs 55,000 depending on the theme, location and the time taken. Apart from the couple, the team only consists of about three- four people including the photographer and the videographer so even during the ongoing pandemic it continues to be quite popular.”
“For those who want to spend a little extra choose for paid locationslike BNR Chanakyaand Royal Retreat which are a hot favourite. Blue Pond on the Ring Road and Maithon Dam are some of the unexplored scenic locations apt for such shoots. Pre wedding photography has been popular among Ranchiites for the past seven years now. In my opinion couples opt for pre- wedding shoots to capture their bond in pictures as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. This is something inspired from the western culture and there is no thumb rule or anything traditional about it,” said RiteshKashyap from Foto Me.
Raj Bhatia from VRB Production feels that pre wedding shoots also help in initiating strong bonds between the couple.
“I have doing pre wedding shoots for the past few years but now-a-days it has become a mandate for those getting married to get one done. The concept for a pre wedding shoot generally depends on the client’s story. People also get a video made on a song of their choice. It basically captures the candid romantic moments between the couple which cannot be done on the day of the wedding. In the present times, people have been using these pictures to customise their e-invites as well. For pre- wedding photos and videos the charges range from Rs 15,000 to Rs 80,000,” said Bhatia.
