Owing to the Covid-19 imposed lockdown operation of numerous trains had been stopped in the month of March. The Ranchi Railway Division of South Eastern Railways (SER) has now decided to resume the operation of 10 mail, express MEMU and passenger trains in different directions from the first week of January. In this regard the Railway Ministry has also given its approval.
As per the information provided by the railways, train numbers 08619 and 08620 Ranchi- Dumka- Ranchi Special train will run from Ranchi on a daily basis with effect from January 2. From Dumka to Ranchi it will be operational from January 3 onwards regularly.
Train number 68035 and 68036 Tatanagar- Hatia- Tatanagar MEMU will be operational from Hatia from January 3 and Tatanagar from January 4 onwards. It will be functional on a daily basis. Train numbers 68037 and 68038 Ranchi- Tori- Ranchi MEMU will run between the two stations on a daily basis from January 3 onwards.
Similarly, Ranchi- Lohardaga- Ranchi MEMU train numbers 68039 and 68040 will ply between the two stations regularly from January 2. Kharagpur- Ranchi- Kharagpur Special train numbers 08085 and 08086 with effect from January 2 from Kharagpur and January 4 from Ranchi will also be operational daily.
Train numbers 68135 and 68136 Ranchi- Lohardaga- Ranchi MEMU will be operational daily from the two stations from January 3. Train numbers 68141 and 68142 Ranchi- Lohardaga- Ranchi MEMU will also be operational between the two stations from January 2 regularly.
Train numbers 68041 and 68042 Adra- Barkakana- Adra MEMU will run fbetween the two stations on a daily basis expect Sundays with effect from January 2. Hatia- Rourkela- Hatia Passenger train numbers 58659 and 58660 will run from Hatia and Rourkela daily with effect from January 2 and January 3 respectively.
Hatia- Tatanagar- Hatia Passenger train numbers 58662 and 58661 will ply between the two destinations from January 2 onwards.
“For the benefit of the passengers the operation of these trains has been resumed and a few new trains have also been introduced. Keeping the pandemic in mind, the trains are being thoroughly cleaned and sanitised on a regular basis. Passengers will be required to strictly adhere to all safety protocols regarding Covid-19 pandemic,” said Neeraj Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer, Ranchi Division.
For devotees wishing to visit Vaishno Devi, Sambalpur- Jammu Tavi- Sambalpur Special via Ranchi will be operational from Sambalpur from January 11 and from Jammu Tavi from January 14 till further notice.
Train number 08309 originating from Sambalpur will be operational on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday whereas train number 08310 from Jammu Tavi will run on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Tuesday.
