SDMC extends amnesty scheme on property tax to April 30

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has decided to extend property tax amnesty scheme up to April 30 due to lockdown in wake of coronavirus pandemic. With the decision, residents can avail waiver of 100 per cent interest and penalty on payment of outstanding dues for all type of properties' under the amnesty scheme.

A senior SDMC official said that all property tax offices and camps will be closed till 15 April 2020 but tax payers can file their property tax returns and payment of property tax dues through online mode.

Under the Amnesty Scheme, the benefit of 100 per cent waiver of interest and penalty is provided to the all the properties holders of unauthorised colonies. Resident has to pay property tax only for the current financial year 2019-20 and the entire due property tax since 2004 will be waived off. Similarly from owners of non residential or commercial properties property tax will be charged from last three years.
