Outgoing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chhattisgarh state President Vikram Usendi on Wednesday thanked everyone in the party for supporting his stint and said the BJP was confident of returning to power in the state in 2023.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national President J.P. Nadda, state leaders and others, he said: “All efforts were put to serve the party based on its traditions and ideology and spread its appeal among the people.”
“Even after the loss of government in the state assembly election in 2018, party workers and leaders kept aside the failure and worked hard, thus winning the Lok Sabha seats,'' he said.
Former union Minister of State Vishnudeo Sai was appointed the new Chhattisgarh BJP President on Tuesday.
Usendi said, “Under leadership of Vishnudeo Sai, the BJP recorded unprecedented victory in the state Assembly, Lok Sabha, civic bodies and Panchayat elections. The same will be achieved in 2023 and BJP will form the government in the state."
