The ‘Patel-Pattalan’ folk dance drama was presented here on Friday. The event was broadcasted on Madhya Pradesh State Trubal Museum YouTube Channel. It was directed by Shobharam Vasore under Abhinayan series.

The dance drama is based on the family life of the householder. It was presented in the style of Nimad.  There is a family of Patel and Mukhiya (head of the family) is an alcoholic. With the sevotional spirit of Dev Darshan, Patel wants to go alone on the Omkareshwar pilgrimage, but due to the persistence of his wife, he takes his wife with him.

Besides, Patel's sister also has to come to the fair, but they are unable to meet there. It was all planned, but it all went in vain because of Patel's alcoholic nature. Patel was unhappy for what he had to go through.

In this scenario, he had a fight with his wife Pattalan. Angry on her husband, Pattalan packs to leave for her maternal house. Patel tries stopping her, but she remained persistant enough to leave the house. But, later she takes advantage of the situation. Pattalan puts a condition in front of Patel that if Patel never consumes alcohol in future, then she will not leave the house.

Patel takes the bet and start living with all the amenities. As per the tradition of Nimar, this play, while being religious in the style of Gammath, gives an educational message to the society. All the actors performed with their artistic acting skills.
