Cuttack Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, a six-time Parliamentarian, is among eight Lok Sabha members and two Rajya Sabha members who would receive the Sansad Ratna Awards 2020 under various categories for their performances during the first year of the 17th Lok Sabha.
Notably, the Prime Point Foundation has been honouring top performing MPs with this award since 2010 on a suggestion by former late President APJ Abdul Kalam.
According to reports, Mahtab would be awarded in the category of sustained qualitative performance in the 16th Lok Sabha.
The date of the awards presentation would be announced when normalcy is restored after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The awardees have been selected by a three-member jury panel headed by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal.
