HP CM dedicates Rs 1.71 cr  residential complex

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday dedicated residential complex of Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education at Dharamsala completed by spending Rs 1.71 crore, besides laying foundation stone of ‘Shikshak Sadan’ to be constructed at a cost of Rs 4.90 crore virtually from Shimla. Thakur said that the State has been adjudged as the ‘Best State of the Country’ amongst big states for its outstanding achievements in the field of education.

 

Punjab to hire 322 IT cadre officials; Test on Dec 27

Chandigarh: Punjab Government would conduct a test for 322 IT Cadre posts including Senior System Manager (SSM), System Manager (SM), Assistant Manager (AM) and Technical Assistant (TA) on December 27, 2020, (Sunday) in Mohali as part of the efforts of Punjab Government to create a State level IT cadre to execute various projects such as Digital India, under National e-Governance program, to transform the state into digitally empowered society.

 

10 Nirog clinics to be established in Himachal

Shimla: National Health Mission Director Dr Nipun Jindal on Thursday said that the Himachal Pradesh Government is rendering special focus in preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases (NCD) during this pandemic situation. To reduce NCD risk and to create awareness among the people, National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular diseases and Stroke (NPCDSC), Health and Wellness Center (HWC) have been launched by the Central Government, and this program has also been implemented on a priority basis in Himachal, he said.

 

Punjab appoints 124 MOs (general)

Chandigarh: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Thursday handed over the appointment letters to 124 Medical Officers (General) on regular basis. The newly appointed 124 doctors were part of 500 Medical Officers appointed in the Department. These appointments are being made under the 'Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Yojna', said Sidhu adding that all these appointments have been made on a merit basis in a transparent manner and these new appointments will help bridge the gap of doctors.

 

Punjab releases list of holidays for 2021

Chandigarh: Punjab Government on Thursday released the list of gazetted and restricted holidays for the year 2021. Spokesperson said that the government offices will remain closed on all Saturdays and Sundays, and there will be 26 scheduled holidays and 31 restricted holidays out of which employees can choose any two holidays. In addition to above holidays, the Government has also listed 15 second half holidays for employees to join Nagar Kirtan or Shobha Yatra out of which employees will be permitted to avail any four second half day holidays.

 

‘Right to Health Campaign' unveiled

Chandigarh: Ayurveda proponent Acharya Manish on Thursday unveiled a unique initiative - ‘Right to Health Campaign’. Acharya Manish, who has been propagating Ayurveda since 1997 and is based in tricity, said, “Charak Sanhita says that the motive of Ayurveda is to keep a healthy body disease free and remove disease from roots in a diseased body. Ayurveda also means complete knowledge of life. So this is not just a medicinal protocol but a way to lead life.”

 

Khosla assumes office as Chancellor of Shoolini varsity

Chandigarh: Founder Vice-Chancellor of the 11-year-old Shoolini University, Prof PK Khosla, has assumed the office of the Chancellor of the University after receiving approval of the Himachal Pradesh Government on Wednesday. Prof Khosla, an academician with a Post-doc from Oxford University, is the moving force behind the idea of a unique research-based university. Keeping research as focus, Prof Khosla was able to steer the university with a focus on top quality research as well as student outcome.

 

Nirankari Foundation honoured with Covid Warrior

Chandigarh: Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation of Sant Nirankari Mission was honoured by PGI-Chandigarh blood bank with ‘COVID-19 Warrior’ certification on account of meeting the scarcity of blood during the COVID pandemic. The Chandigarh Zonal in-charge KK Kashyap said that the words ‘Humanity is our mission and we are only Human’ are being practically realized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation with the blessings of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj. 

 

Punjab Lokpal releases coffee table book

Chandigarh: Punjab Lokpal Justice Vinod Kumar on Thursday released the Coffee Table Book depicting the visuals of the Comparative Study of Legal Systems of Singapore and India written by Punjab and Haryana High Court lawyer Harpreet Sandhu.

Appreciating the hard work of Sandhu, Justice Vinod Kumar said that this Coffee Table Book, which is a wonderful collection of pictures, will provide an understanding of Constitutional Legal Functionality between Singapore and India.
