With the country going on extended lockdown 4.0, labourers from the bottom rung surviving on daily wages have become the immediate victims.
In a bid to extend help to the families who have lost their livelihood, Deepak Foundation distributed dry ration kits comprise rice, flour, pulses, sugar, oil.
Keeping in mind the sudden emergence of Covid-19 positive cases, the team included Dumri Referral Hospital administrator Dr Soumya Prakash, Dr Anuradha Ayush, Medical officer, Ayush along with counselor Sunita Kumari and other foundation team members distributed soaps and masks after conducting awareness sessions,said Priya Giri Chakarborty,Senior Communication Officer.
On the occasion of Deepak Foundation’s former trustee Late Kantaben Mehta's death anniversary, 400 dry ration kits were distributed at Arki, Kuchai and Madhubhan villages under Dumri sub division in Giridih district.
Hundreds of thousands of daily wage labourers and workers engaged in various labour-intensive activities across Giridih district have already lost their livelihood and are staring at acute deprivation if the situation persists for long.
