Congress MLA from Haryana, Krishan Hooda dies

Haryana Congress MLA Krishan Hooda died on Sunday after a prolonged illness. He was 75. The Legislator from Baroda constituency in Sonipat district of Haryana was hospitalised in Delhi for the past few  weeks.

Krishan Hooda had defeated BJP's wrestler-turned politician Yogeshwar Dutt from the Baroda Assembly seat in the 2019 elections.  The six-time MLA was elected in the years 1987, 1996, 2005, 2009, 2014 and

2019. The Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has condoled the death of the MLA.

While expressing grief over the demise of Baroda MLA, former Chief Minister and leader of opposition in Haryana Assembly, Bhupinder Singh Hooda said he has lost a friend and the party a senior leader who was a strong pillar in state politics. His death is a big blow to my family and State politics, the senior Congress leader said. Speaking about the departed leader’s long and distinguished career, the former Chief Minister said, “Being elected as an MLA 6 times, indicated his popularity.

He was always available for his people and was deeply connected with the masses and was always the voice of the farmers and the poor.” “I always received his love and blessings like an elder brother and his death has left a big void in the political and social life of Haryana.  I express my sincerest tribute to the departed soul and my deepest condolences to the family,” he added.
