The system of examination and award of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) at the Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh (IKSV), underwent a radical change on Saturday as regular classes have been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chhattisgarh Governor and Chancellor Anusuiya Uikey has given clearance for the amendment of conduct of examination and related issues.

The Amendment Ordinance Number 18 (Conduct of Examination) and Ordinance Number 60 (Degree of Doctor of Philosophy) have been issued.

As per the ordinance, except for final year semester course, the graduation (Under Graduate/Post Graduation) and Diploma courses, the evaluation methodology will be based on intermediate semester and year-end examination        evaluation held by the        university and colleges.

The Governor directed that the students should be informed about the conduct of examination and related activities at least a fortnight in advance.

Ph.D scholars, whose  thesis submission period has expired or is ending during the Covid-19 epidemic     period, may be allowed six more months from the   scheduled date of submission.

The University will hold the examination based on the circumstances of Covid-19.

All examinations conducted before March 14, 2020 -- after which the nationwide lockdown started -- will be evaluated under the criteria laid down.

The ordinance states that the scheme of internal assessment is 50 percent grading marks obtained by the student while remaining 50 percent marks will be based on the previous semester or year's performance.

If the subject is not available in the previous session, then 100 percent evaluation will be done on the basis of internal evaluation of the current session.

The students will be permitted to improve on the marks obtained in the next semester year for which special examination will be held.

Students’ attendance during the lockdown period will be considered as "attended".

On completion of all the examination and evaluation for the current academic session, the special provisions will automatically be considered as annulled.
