Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta has slammed the Kejriwal Government over the notice sent to the students by the Delhi Technological University (DTU) regarding “imposing” penalty for not depositing the fees till 5 August.
Questioning the education model of the Kejriwal Government, he said at this time the Government has no concern for the students but only wants to fill their pockets. “It shows that the Kejriwal Government is making educational institutions a business model and only a source of income. This is the real education model of the Kejriwal Government,” he added.
Gupta said more than 7,000 students study in Delhi Technological University which comes under the Delhi Government. “In many courses, the annual fee is up to Rs 1 lakh 9 thousand. The university has issued a notice to the students saying that penalty will be imposed for not depositing the fees till 5 August. In corona pandemic, where everyone is struggling with financial constraints, it is inhumane to set a deadline for fees,” he said.
“This is not the first time the Delhi Government’s education model has been exposed. Earlier, Neta Ji Subhash University of Technology which also comes under Delhi government also set a deadline for fees in a similar manner,” he said.
“This is also increasing mental pressure on the students and their families. The DTU has even warned that if the fees are not deposited by August 27, it will cut off the students names. He said that he demands from the Delhi government that the students be given relief as soon as possible” he said.
Meanwhile, in an event organised on Hanuman Mandir of Connaught Place on the eve Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan, Gupta distributed diyas, masks and sanitisers and appealed everyone to lit diyas on August 5.
