ATM card swapping; 2 held in Ganjam

The Ganjam police have arrested two persons, who were  looting senior citizens by swapping their ATM cards on the guise of helping them to withdraw money at the kiosks. The arrestees were identified as Simanchal Sahu of the Mohana area in Gajapati district and his associate Gobardhan Patra of Kulada gram panchayat under the Bhanjanagar police station in Ganjam district. The duo have 19 cases pending against them at various police stations in Gnjam, Nayagarh, Khordha , Malkangiri and Nuapada districts. During interrogation it was ascertained that they are involved in more than 24 ATM fraud cases.

Police have seized Rs 2.70 lakh cash, 10 ATM cards, a bike, gold ring, and mobile phones from their possession, informed Ganjam Additional SP Thakur Prasad Patra at a Press meet here on Tuesday.
