State BJP unit aims 65 plus seats in Assembly polls

Monday, 10 June 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Buoyed with its performance in Lok Sabha elections, where it won 12 out of 14 seats, the State BJP unit has aimed to secure more than 65 seats in the Assembly elections scheduled in the later phase of the year. The party on Sunday devised special strategy in a core committee meeting chaired by party’s national president Amit Shah in Delhi.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das said after the meeting in Delhi that a work plan has been made for the elections, which will be implemented in letter and spirit in the State.

He said the party has set a goal of 65 plus seats in the 81 member Assembly and the State unit will march ahead with commitment to achieve the aim.

“Just like the Lok Sabha polls where we got 12 out of 14 seats, we have to repeat the performance in the Assembly elections. With the double engine Government for growth in the State fruits of development schemes are now reaching the tribal, poor, dalits and oppressed people of the society. This, coupled with the efforts of the State BJP unit will surely lead us across 65 seats in the Assembly polls,” the Chief Minister said.

Das added in Sunday’s meeting the preparations for 2019 Assembly elections were reviewed. “The State BJP unit will work with booth level, panchayat level, division level and State level workers with full energy and will make 65 plus seats in State Assembly a reality,” he added.

Notably, BJP national president Amit Shah on Sunday held meetings with core groups of senior leaders of Haryana, Maharashtra and Jharkhand ahead of Assembly elections in these states later this year.

In the BJP core committee meeting along with CM Raghubar Das, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda, Vidyut Baran Mahto, Sudarshan Bhagat, Jayant Sinha, Nilkanth Singh Munda, National Organisational Secretary Ralmal, Co-organisational Secretary Saudhan Singh along with other senior leaders were present.

Earlier, CM Raghubar Das met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and greeted him for the party’s win and formation of government at the Centre with a huge majority.
