All Odisha Kinnar and Third Gender Association leader Menaka Kinnar along with hundreds ofsupporters joined the BJP here recently.
“I joined the BJP after being inspired by hard work of Aparajita Saraning and the ‘Mu Chowkidar’ slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I have also made promises to oust the BJD Government and make all efforts for giving social security to slum dwellers, women, roadside vendors and senior citizens,” said Menaka in a statement.
Menaka alleged that the BJD Government has failed in providing social security to transgenders.
She also said that she would fight for making a five per cent reservation for transgenders in politics and Government jobs and formation of a Kinnar Welfare Board in the State.
