Workshop on exam reforms held at GIFT
Bhubaneswar: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Eastern Region in association with the Gandhi Institute For Technology (GIFT), Bhubaneswar organised a workshop on ‘Examination Reforms’ here on Monday. Chief guest State Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training Controller of Examinations Bhramarbar Badhai underlined the need of examination reforms for technical institutes. GIFT vice-chairman Patitapaban Panda reiterated the need of reforms in the examination systems as higher education is driving profound changes in the engineering education system in the wake of the globalisation of the world economy.
Sainik School annual inspection held
Bhubaneswar: Sainik Schools Society Inspecting Officer Commodore G Rambabu visited the Sainik School, Bhubaneswar on an annual inspection that concluded on Tuesday. He also attended the annual day programme of the Bal Sainik Public School and also inaugurated a newly-built swimming pool for training of the cadets. He appreciated the art and science exhibition and cultural programme of the cadets. Interacting with the staffs, he discussed on an all-round development of the cadets and assured that the Board of Governors, Sainik Schools Society is working for the possible assistance admissible to the Sainik School staffs.
Blossoms 2nd in Preschool Ranking Awards
Bhubaneswar: The Blossoms School received second rank in the India Preschool Ranking Awards 2018-19 for early childhood education for the third consecutive year from the Education World in Bangalore recently. School Principal Seemita Panda received the award. More than 350 participants from 72 cities participated from across the country. The preschools were ranked on a ten-point scale across ten parameters like competence of teachers, teacher welfare, individual attention to students, value for money, leadership, management quality, parental involvement, innovative teaching, safety and hygiene and special needs education.
Honda holds road safety awareness drive
Bhubaneswar: The Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India conducted a national road safety awareness campaign for kids at the Aurobindo School and the Jaidev Shiksha Kendra here on Tuesday. Through this initiative, the Honda aims to cover more than 15,000 young children and adults of 10 schools across cities in the country every month. The motto was ‘Safety for everyone’. About 2,800 participants including over 2,700 kids and 80 adults took part.
