Comedian Salil Mitra passes away 

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood comedian Salil Mitra passed away at a private hospital here on Monday night. He was 52 and is survived by his wife and two daughters. Mitra was undergoing treatment at the KIMS after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident in Keonjhar on May 12. He had been initially admitted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack before being shifted to the KIMS. Known for his comedic roles in movies and TV serials, Mitra had debuted in Ollywood with feature film ‘Pua Bhangi Dela Suna Sansara’ in 1999.

Bhagabata Behera death anniv observed 

Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Yadav Mahasabha, Bhubaneswar branch observed the 17th death anniversary of former Minister Bhagabata Behera here on Monday under chairmanship of its president Saroj Behera. The Mahasabha felicitated newly-elected Jatni MLA Suresh Kumar Routray, Jayadev MLA Dr Arbind Dhali, Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, Bhubaneswar Ekamra MLA Ashok Chandra Panda and Salepur MLA Prasant Behera and Bari MLA Sunanda Das. The MLAs assured that they would work for the development of the Yadav community.

Barabati to host India-WI ODI match

Cuttack: The Barabati Stadium here would witness international cricket after a span of around two years as an ODI match between India and West Indies is scheduled to be played here on December 22 this year. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 2019-20 home season which includes 5 Tests, 9 ODIs and 12 T20Is. The West Indies team will tour India in the month of December to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is with the host team. The final ODI would be played at Barabati. The last international match here was a T20I between India and Sri Lanka on December 20, 2017.

Uber partners IOCL to offer discounts to driver

Bhubaneswar: The Uber marked another milestone by announcing a partnership with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for offering special benefits to thousands of driver partners across India. The partnership is Uber latest initiative under the Uber Care umbrella in which more than 12,000 driver partners have already registered for the benefit. The agreement with IOCL will offer delivery partners discounts on petrol, diesel and CNG in IOCL petrol pumps across India.
