nThe Congress claimed the half-day agitation of the BJP on Saturday was a total failure and termed it baseless and irrelevant, which was not even supported by nature.
In a statement, the Congress stated that the BJP as an opposition party is failing to garner public support. The truth is that even the BJP workers feel that in the last six months during the tenure of the Congress government basic amenities like power, water, road and cleanliness have become better. The decision to half the electricity bill, hiking the paddy support price and loan waiver were taken which was backed by even BJP workers, party claimed.
Party stated that even rains prevented BJP from taking part in the agitation.
On power issue, the ruling party said even the Central Electricity Authority of India have pointed out 97.63 percent availability in Chhattisgarh, which is maximum in the country. BJP is trying to counter its own Central agency.
The corruption on transformer and sub-stations during the previous regime is now coming to the fore and the BJP should seek apology to the people for trying to mislead them, the Congress said.
