Central Coalfield Limited (CCL) and Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS) organised “Felicitation Ceremony” in Ranchi on Saturday to honour international athlete Florence Barla.
On this occasion, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, CCL, Gopal Singh, and his wife Pramila Singh honoured the international player Barla by giving Running Shoes, Sports Kit as token of love. Main Coach, Sanjay Ghosh and Assistant Coach Ashu Bhatiya of Florence Barla were also honoured on the occasion.
On the joint initiative of CCL and JSSPS, all 338 players got summer vacation from June 8 to June 16. Talking as mentor with all the players, Singh appealed to the players that they have to perform like Barla, for which it is very necessary to follow discipline with hard work, timely diet and quality education, time to sleep, attention to cleanliness, entertainment and full respect to parents.
Encouraging all the children, Singh said that they are full of talents and are able to get international medal like Barla under the guidance of their coach. He appealed to the parents of the players that they should motivate their wards for regular practice during summer vacation. Lauding Barla’s performance the CMD said she has done excellent job for the State. Singh said that Barla has proved that the mission of the Olympics will definitely be fulfilled.
It is to be noted that JSSPS cadet Florence Barla clinched two gold medals in 400 meters and 400 meter mix relay while performing the best in International Invitational Athletics Meet in Kazakhstan.
With a view to increase numbers of medals in the medal tally and with vision of Central Government and Chief Minister, Raghubar Das JSSPS was formed in Jharkhand in July 2016, whose main objective is 'Mission Olympics Medal 2024'. In the JSSPS, the training and world-class facilities are being provided to selected children by international level coaches.
