The Environment Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO) is organising lectures by well-known experts in the State on environment development, world peace and Gandhi Darshan on the occasion of the 150th Jayanti of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. As many as 20 youths selected from the country have been presented with fellowships on environment development and Gandhi Darshan. The youths are being taken on an education tour to the country’s institutions inspired by Gandhi Darshan.

EPCO organized 4 training programmes for capacity building and to develop understanding on climate change and environment in the society. About 70 persons interested in the subject of environment took part in the programmes. EPCO organized extensive programmes in order to train teachers in universities on the subject of climate change and environment. So far nearly 250 teachers of 6 universities in the state have been imparted training on environment protection and management.

The EPCO Institute of Environmental Studies has been established with the aim of creating awareness among people towards environment protection and management. Graduate students interested in environment are being trained for environmental problems and their management in the institute. So far over 100 training programmes have been organized in the institute. The training is mainly based on climate change, environment protection, environment pollution and management, environmental education, protection of bio-diversity, management etc.
