Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday said that construction of airport will pave way for development at Dhalbhumgarh.
Along with the Kolhan, people of West Bengal and Odisha will also benefit from this airport. Business activities in the area will increase. This airport has to be completed in a time bound manner.
Holding a review meeting with senior officials including Central Civil Aviation Secretary RN Choubey, the CM added that the State government will cooperate fully in the project. At the end of this month, ground breaking ceremony of airport will be performed.
Das said that from 70 years this area has been neglected. This work is being carried by the joint effort of the state government and PM Narendra Modi at helm.
The new airport will also generate employment. More and more people will benefit from airport, he said.
Chairman of the Airport Authority of India, Gurpad Mohapatra said that there was a runway here in the time of World War II. This airport will be built in two phases.
In the first phase there will be small planes. Its construction will be ready by December 2020. After this, the work of the second phase will also continue.
The Chief Minister said that Deoghar Airport will be ready by February 2020 . It will be able to operate 180 seater planes.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Transport Secretary Pravin Toppo, Path Secretary KK Son, Deputy Commissioner Jamshedpur Amit Kumar and Deputy Commissioner of Deogar Rahul Kumar Sinha.
