‘Dedicated freight corridor to ensure ease of business’

Chief Secretary Dr DK Tiwari today reviewed the pending cases of railway projects in Jharkhand and gave necessary directions to the officers of concerned departments. In relation to the land given to Railways till now, for the schemes of rail extension in the State, he said that they have been giving land to many central institutions and organizations. It should also be assessed as to what is the actual condition of its use.

He instructed the Revenue and Land Reforms Secretary to make a database of the present situation of the use of land given to the railway and other institutions.

He also asked to mention in the database how much land has been given so far and how much of it has been used.

The CS said that the dedicated freight corridors are the railways, which are set for freight only. Dedicated freight corridors are being set up in India so that the supply of goods can easily be made between industries. Revenue Secretary KK Soan said that till now 90 per cent of the land in four districts has been given to the Railways according to the requirement of the Dedicated Freight Corridor. The process of giving the rest of the land to the railway will complete within a month.

On behalf of the Forest Department, it was informed that necessary action is being taken for the use of forest land. The CS instructed to take all the action online. Energy Secretary Vandana Dadel gave detailed explanation of the work of installation of the Electrical tower. The CS directed to complete the remaining work in stipulated time.

Revenue Secretary KK Soan, Transport Secretary Pravin Toppo, Energy Secretary Vandana Dadel, Special Secretary Forest Department AK Rastogi and others were present in the meeting.
