Ex-CRPF chief appointed as senior security adviser in Union Home Ministry

Former chief of CRPF and adviser to Jammu & Kashmir Governor K Vijay Kumar has been appointed as senior security adviser in the Union Home Ministry. The 1975-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer will “advise the Ministry on security related matters of Union Territory of JK and Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected States,” the order said.

The 67-year-old Kumar emerged as super cop after elimination of notorious forest brigand Veerappan in 2004.
