A special board meeting for Ranchi Municipal Corporation Zonal Committee was convened at RMC, here on Monday, where an election of 10 members for the committee was conducted successfully. The RMC Board also gave a green signal to rechristen Vendor Market as Atal Vendor Market, here on Monday.
Notably, the 53 wards of the Capital city have been divided in 10 zones and every zone has 5-6 wards under it. The Zonal committee members will put forward the issues of their zones and works of the RMC in the Board meeting. Every month a meeting of the Zonal committee will be called and the committee will decide which issues to be brought forward at the RMC Board meeting.
The Committee members were today elected unanimously during the meeting. The committee members’ names include Nakul Tirkey, Pritu Ranjan, Arjun Yadav, Jemin Kujur, Om Prakash, Arun Jha, Vinod Kumar Singh, Anandmurti, Urmila Yadav and Savita Linda.
Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakra said that the Zonal Committee has been formed so that the issues like cleanliness and sanitation, water-logging, water scarcity etc are solved easily. “The committee members will look after the issues of their zones and make the RMC aware of the same. They will also propose solutions to the problems. Cleanliness and sanitation will remain top priority in the upcoming festivals. The name of vendor market has also been changed to Atal Vendor Market,” she said.
