On the initiative of Chief Minister Raman Singh, Raipur and Korba residents will have new train service by the name of ‘Hasdeo Express’ from October 6 this year.
Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has approved the proposal to provide Raipur-Korba and Korba-Raipur train service.
The Chief Minister thanked Railway Minister for accepting the proposal.
The South East Central Railway (SECR) officials on Thursday intimated that train number 18801/18802 Raipur-Korba-Raipur Hasdeo Express would run four days in a week.
The train number 18803/18804 Raipur-Korba-Raipur Hasdeo Express would run three days a week. The train would be flagged off on October 6.
The new train would benefit passengers travelling to Korba, Champa, Naila-Janjgir, Akaltara, Bilaspur, Bilha, Bhatapara, Tilda and Raipur.
The train between Korba and Raipur would be made regular from October 7, 2018 , officials said.
Train number 18801 would ply on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Korba to Raipur and the Train number 18802 would run from Raipur to Korba on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Officials said, similarly, train number 18803-- Korba to Raipur would run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday while train number 18804 will make the trip from Raipur to Korba on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday. Train number 18801/18802 will have 12 coaches while train number 18803/18804 will have 18 coaches. They would be similar to Janshatabdi Express.
