Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal presented the Odisha Excellence Award to 17 exceptional Odia personalities and three successful organisations at a festival organised by the Odia Media here recently.
Odisha’s freedom fighter Gour Hari Das from Mumbai and Odia Media director, author and journalist Subhransu Panda also joined the award festival as guests.
Former bureaucrat Devdas Chhotray was awarded for excellence in literature, Sampad Mohapatra for excellence in journalism, Mihir Das for excellence in cinema, Prem Anand for excellence in music, Income Tax Commissioner Sarat Kumar Das for excellence in Public Service and others were awarded in their respective fields.
Governor also felicitated freedom fighter Gour Hari Das. A souvenir edited by festival coordinator Gayatri Mavuru was also released on the occasion.
A Hindi biopic ‘Gour Hari Dastaan’ was screened, made by renowned filmmaker Anant Mahadevan, based on the life struggle of freedom fighter Gour Hari Das.
