The comedy play ‘Beewiyon Ka Madarsa’ was staged at Shaheed Bhavan auditorium. Marking the third day of Dinesh Thakur memorial theatre festival, the play was performed here on Friday.
Beewiyon Ka Madarsa is a Hindi version of Moilere's 14th century classic farce Ecole de Femmes or School for Wives by Balraj Pandit. An old man brings up a six year old girl to marry her when she would grow up. But, she grows up to fall in love with a young man and the two elope after fooling the old man.
The play was directed by Atul Mathur and was brilliantly performed leaving the audience in the whirls of laughter. The comedy play was a total stress buster for the Bhopal theatre lovers. From the acting skills to the next to perfect dialogue delivery and the comical situations made the audience laugh their hearts out as they were watching the show.
The story revolves around Haneef Mohammed. He did not marry believing that all women are dishonest, who cheat and take advantage of their husbands. However, he was cheated by his three begums. Then a chance meeting with a 6-year-old, innocent and beautiful Husnara gives him the idea of rearing her up in his fashion to be his wife.
The girl turns sixteen and Haneef Mohammed begins to plan his wedding. But nature intervenes in the shape of a young and handsome suitor and the battle of wits starts. This farcical comedy is the funny tragedy of Haneef Mohammed.
