25-year-old married woman ends life by jumping into lake

A 25-year-old married woman committed suicide by jumping into the Upper Lake on Wednesday night; Talaiya police have started investigation into the matter.

Divers of BMC deployed at Upper Lake tried to rescue a woman who jumped into Upper Lake near Raja Bhoj bridge late in the night on Wednesday. The woman was rushed to Hamidia where she was declared dead. She was identified as Anuradha Raikwar of Arera Colony.

In the initial investigation police found that the deceased had a fight with her husband and later she came to the Upper Lake and committed suicide.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered.

Police have not found any suicide note and have started to search for the reason behind the suicide.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at C-Sector under Govindpura police station area late in the night on Wednesday. Police said that the deceased identified as Prakaran was found hanging in his room and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

The reason could be revealed after the statements of the family members would be recorded. In the initial investigation reason remains unclear. Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered. Police have not found any suicide note and have started to search for the reason behind the suicide.
