SCI observes ‘Swachchhta hi Sewa’ Abhiyan
SCI is dedicated to support the Government of India‘s mission for Swachh Bharat and has been contributing its resources and efforts for realizing the dream of clean India, and in continuance of same, “Swachchhta hi Sewa” Abhiyan is being observed from 17th September 2018 to 02nd October 2018.
Special Burn Centre in Patna under NTPC’s CSR
The NTPC has signed an MOU with AIIMS, Patna, for setting up a Special Burn Centre at Patna under its CSR initiatives. The centre will be a state-of-the-art facility which will cater to the patients of Bihar and its adjoining states. The NTPC shall provide the fund for construction of the two-floor building with a 50-bedded ward, 12 intensive care units for critical patients, two operation theatres, skin bank and hydrotherapy unit with all required equipments. The Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery, AIIMS, Patna, shall provide the technical and clinical expertise for the day-to-day running and treatment of the burn patients

Public support for cleanliness of railways
As part of various ongoing activities during the “Swachchta Hi Sewa” Pakhwara, being organised by the Indian Railways between September 15 to October 2, the ‘Community Day/Sewa Divas‘ is being celebrated. On the occasion senior deputy general manager of Northern Railway Chandralekha Mukherjee, visited Hazarat Nizammuddin station to seek cooperation from the general public, railway employees and other stake holders with an appeal to not litter the railway premises and keep it clean. The cooperation of passengers is also sought in keeping the coach and railway premises clean through public announcement system as well.

BIS adopts latest version of IS/ISO 50001: 2018
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has adopted ISO 50001 as IS/ISO 50001:2018. The ISO 50001 “Energy Management Systems-Requirements with Guidance for Use (First Revision)” has established itself as the eminent document for energy management systems, addressing the energy efficiency and climate change challenges which also make up a key part in four out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in the UN 2030 Agenda.
