Himachal Government would take efforts to pave the way for construction of Kaza-Mudh-Bhaba road through Pin Valley connecting Spiti and Kinnaur to shorten the distance to State headquarter from Kaza to Shimla by 90 kilometers, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said on Monday.
Addressing a public meeting at Katgaon (Kafnoo) in tribal district of Kinnaur, he said 34 kilometers long road from Atargoo to Mudh has already been constructed, and the case for forest clearance has been submitted to State Wild life Board, to further take up with National Wild life Board.
Singh inaugurated the three days block level Jatru Festival at Bhabanagar and suggested that the name of the fair should be Bhabha Jatar instead of Jatru, though Jatru itself means festival. He said it was the duty of all to preserve the age old traditions, customs and culture.
Earlier, he addressed public meeting at Tapri after inaugurating the Jaani link road constructed with an outlay of Rs. 4.04 crore. This would facilitate a population of around 1000 of Jaani situated on left bank of river Sutlej.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of Panchayat office Complex at Kafnoo.
