Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel on Saturday claimed that nation had attained greater heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a short span of three years.

“Just like Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi who united the nation by eradicating untouchability and class differences, Modi’s  ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ had been taking the entire nation towards the path of economic freedom,” Goel remarked while addressing a function in Raipur organised by the Chhattisgarh Government.

Chief Minister Raman Singh presided over the function which was mainly organized to mark the completion of three years of the BJP Government at the Centre.

Goel said that Raman Singh's 'lok Suraaj' drive aimed at to reach out to people directly and solve their problems on spot, should be emulated by all states. He opined that Chief Minister had been working relentlessly in ameliorating the masses from poverty.

Union Minister said that Prime Minister Modi is determined to get rid of corruption and black money. “Demonetisation was a historic decision in that (black money) direction and the entire nation supported the step. Multiple raids are being conducted against corrupt people all over the country,'' the minister stated.

Raman Singh said at the function that Modi had given a new direction to the entire country. He added that 26 May 2014 was a historic day when Modi took over the reins of the country.

listing out details of Chhattisgarh Government's success, Singh said that 11 lakh families had been provided with domestic gas connections in the State under the Prime Minister 'Ujjawala' scheme.

He informed that the share of States in Central revenue had been increased from 32 per cent to 42 per cent during the Modi regime.
