Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Thursday unveiled the statue of Kushal Singh Dahiya who made the sacrifice of his own life to ensure that the head of Guru Tegh Bahadur could reach Anandpur Sahib.
The statue was unveiled at Badhkhalsa Memorial Complex, Rai, in Sonepat.
While dedicating the statue of Kushal Singh Dahiya to the people, the Chief Minister urged them to draw inspiration from the sacrifice made by Kushal Singh. He also assured people of Badhkhalsa village that the issue of land would be resolved at the earliest. The technical hurdle of stamp duty has already been removed, he added.
Referring to the historical event of the sacrifice,r Manohar lal said when Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in India, the guru’s disciple was trying to take Guruji's head to Anandpur Sahib. On the way when Kushal Singh stopped here, he realised that Aurangzeb's army would not let it happen. So, he offered his own head as his face bore resemblance to Guru to cheat the army of Aurangzeb. It was an act of great courage and sacrifice, he added.
