Son-in-law of Nirankari chief succumbs to injuries

Avneet Setya, son-in-law of Head of the Nirankari Mission, Baba Hardev Singh and a resident of Panchkula, succumbed to his injuries in the car crash in Canada which killed head of the Sant Nirankari Mission on Friday.

Setya was in the ill fated car in which the Head of the Nirankari Mission was travelling from New York to Montreal in Canada.

Baba Hardev Singh was travelling with two of his sons-in-law Sandeep Khinda and Avneet Setya and Vivek Sharma from New York. Mohinder Singh, Sanyojak, Sant Nirankari Mission Chandigarh branch said Avneet was born in Panchkula on 9 July, 1987, and was always inclined spiritually. He also showcased immense talents of that of an actor and an artist, and won UTV Bindaas Road Diaries Season 1. He got married to Sudhiksha, the younger daughter of Baba Hardev Singh, on 2 June, 2015.   

The devotees of Sant Nirankari Mandal gathered in huge numbers in all tri-city Bhawans to grieve the loss of Baba Hardev Singh. The shocking news had spread fast over social media on Friday only.

The last rites of Sant Hardev Singh will be performed in CNG crematorium in Delhi on May 18. The body would be flown to India on Saturday itself.

The mortal remains of Baba Hardev Singh will be placed in Montreal on Saturday for Antim Darshan by the devotees abroad. Thereafter, The body will be flown to Delhi where it will be placed in Ground No. 8, Burari Road, on Monday afternoon onwards. The devotees will be able to have Anitm Darshan till Wednesday.

The last journey will begin on Wednesday from Ground No. 8 at 8.00 am and conclude at Nigam Bodh Ghat. The last rites will take place at the CNG Crematorium at 12.00 Noon. This will be followed by Shardhanjali Samaroh at Ground No.2, Burari Road from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
