Professor P Nageshwar Rao was appointed as new Vice Chancellor (VC) of Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani by the Governor of Uttarakhand, KK Paul on Monday. The appointment would be for a period of three years or 65 years of the age whichever is frist. The Governor appointed Rao in his capacity as Chancellor of state universities.
Professor Rao is a renowned academician and at present is officiating VC of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) New Delhi.
He is recipient of prestigious Saraswati Samman and BBl Saxena Smriti Hindi Samman. He has served as VC of UP Rajshree Tandon Open University, Director of Jawahar lal Nehru Institute of Business Management, Vikram University, Ujjain MP in past and has an experience of over 25 years in various capacities.
