Ganpat Rai's birth anniversary celebrated

Monday, 18 January 2016 | Vinod Prasad | LOHARDAGA

I am feeling proud on the land of brave martyr Pandey Ganpat Rai, who sacrificed his life for the sake of the nation. No lethargic attitude will be tolerated to honour the martyr, said Speaker Dinesh Oraon on the occasion of martyr Ganpat Rai birth anniversary-cum-fair organised by Ganpat Rai memorial committee and district organisation jointly at Bhounro village of Bhandra block.

Oraon described the life events of the martyr and said, “Pandey Ganpat Rai had served the nation as real hero. At last moment when the British men asked his last wish, he rebuked the British men rudely.”

Oraon also told to organise the meeting with the villagers to develop it as a model one and fulfill all the demands of the committee. Before it Oraon garlanded the statue of the martyr. The speaker also distributed some blankets to the needy people. The programme was inaugurated by lighting candles. After that the students of DPS lohardaga, middle school Bhounro and Kasturba School Bhandra presented an array of cultural programme. The famous folk singer Govind Sharan presented some songs in honor of the martyr.

DDC Danial Kandulana, ex MlA Ramesh Oraon, Vandana Rai, BJP district head Rakesh Prasad, Dukh Haran Sahu, BDO Ajay Bhagat, CO Prakash Kumar, Bal Krishna Singh, Kishor Shau and a large number of villagers were present.
