A high profile sex racked was busted after the Delhi Police arrested a 62-year-old man from Sajdarjung area on Thursday, against whom the Income Tax authorities had sent a report containing details of illegal and criminal activities.

According to a senior police official, the accused has been identified as Pritindra Nath Sanyal. The Income Tax authorities carried out search and seizure operation in June 2016 at the residences of the accused in Safdarjung Enclave, Vasant Kunj and lucknow (UP) simultaneously. During search, incriminating documents indicating his involvements in illegal activities like human trafficking and impersonation came to the light.

Documentary evidence in the form of WhatsApp messages and SMSes were seized from the residence of the accused.

Police said, during the search operation, the Income Tax authorities found a 23-year-old foreign national girl at the residence of accused. The evidence in the form of SMSes and WhatsApp data of the mobile phone of the girl showed that the foreign national was being kept by the accused against her will. Her travel documents, including passport, were forcibly kept by the accused in his custody.

The Income Tax authorities recorded the statement of the girl wherein she stated that she was feeling very insecure with the accused and wished to leave the premises immediately.

“During search, copies of passports of other foreign women and phone numbers of dozens of foreign women belonging to Central Asian countries were recovered from the residence of the accused,” said the police official.

“Messages exchanged between accused Sanyal and his associates revealed financial transactions related to foreign women. During search, the foreign national girl also attempted suicide by slashing her wrist’s vein and she was taken to hospital for treatment by the Income Tax authorities.

The girl had come to India on a tourist visa on February 25, 2016 and had visited Jaipur, Sariska and Delhi. She also told police that she was introduced to accused Sanyal by one Col (Retd) Ajay Ahlawat, whose involvement in the case is being investigated. Ahlawat is previously involved in many cheating cases, said Ishwar Singh the DCP of South district.

“Details of his phone record, bank accounts, emails and the involvement of his associates in the crime is being probed. Investigation conducted so far has revealed that accused Sanyal has sent messages to Government officials and other senior functionaries, posing as a Member of Parliament and other senior functionaries in the Government for getting favour in certain business deals. The analysis of his phone record is being done to find out the details of other associates and victims,” the DCP added.
