For the first time ever, the sacrifice of state heroes was showcased by light and Sound Show at Jharkhand War Memorial, Dipatoli on the occasion of Birsa Munda's Martyred Day on Tuesday. The 35 minutes programme narrated by Veteran Actor Shatrughan Prasad Sinha and produced by 23 Infantry Division was inaugurated by Governor Droupadi Murmu in the presence of CM Raghubar Das, South Western Command GOC-in-Chief South lieutenant General AK Sahni and 23 Infantry Division GOC Major General Rajiv Edwards.
Beginning with the first call for freedom among the tribes of Jharkhand region, it highlighted on Hul Kranti of 1766, Buddhu Bhagat's role in 1831, Sidhu and his siblings leadership for freedom on June 1855 and Birsa Munda's birth on November 1875 and his godly cum leadership qualities in raising the voice of freedom and saving land.
East India Company's trick to put him behind bars for two years and then later prior to his death was shown here. The raising of 23 Infantry Division and its establishment at the state capital decades back was also explained. Even the important role and sacrifices of Paramveer Chakra lance Naik Albert Ekka of 14 Guards and Kirti Chakra Naik Vishwa Kerketta was focused. The show concluded with the setting of Sainik Schook, Tilaiya producing alumnus like lt Gen Gyan Bhushan and the foundation stone laid for the Jharkhand War Memorial by Ekka's wife in 2007.
