As the Rajasthan Mahotsav is evoking a huge response by the Bhopalites, the art lovers of the city are taking the pleasure of various artistic and wondrous performances as well as other programmes at Bharat Bhavan. Moreover, the film screenings organised under this grand event is also captivating the interest of the art lovers.
On Thursday the tale of one of the bravest heroes of Rajasthan Veer Tejaji was told during the event. The Rajasthani film Veer Tejaji was screened at Abhirang Auditorium, Bharat Bhavan where the adherent lovers were observed at the hall. Veer Tejaji is a Rajasthani language movie, based on the life of Tejaji, made in 1982. The movie was a big commercial success in its time and gave a significant fillip to the Rajasthani movie industry.
It shows the life of Jats, Meenas and Gujars and their position in the society in eleventh century. The writer and Director of the movie was Nawal Mathur. Producer was Ramraj Nahta. Star Cast Rameshwari, Deepak Seth, Nilu. Deepak Seth have played role of Tejaji and Rameshwari as Pemal, the wife of Tejaji. Tejaji’s legend is that of a young man, striving for respect and recognition, who is willing to sacrifice everything in order to maintain tribal conceptions of honour.
There are a number of different variations to the Teja legend as recounted by different bards and priests. The life span of Veer Tejaji was showcased in the film which was much enjoyed by the Bhopalites.
